You can now listen to my most recent piece, Cello Messages, online. The 30-minute, five-movement piece was written for cellist Joe Davies and pianist Daniel Chappell and recorded in COVID-safe conditions in December last year. The piece explores the spectrum between musical eloquence and ineloquence, its modes of address ranging from symphonic continuity to stuttering fragments, but always with the sense that both cello and piano are attempting to communicate.
